" set an intention and the design your sequence. Follow ur sequence and finish it at your course."
That is what my teacher told during my TTC and also many other yoga tea hers flat their courses...guess that is why I sometimes see teaches hide a note with what they "designed " and keep checking it during at the class...no comment on it....
Although I respect my teacher, I drop her words at my third teaching and ever since then I follow the needs I sense and notice from students to adjust my sequence. The fact taught me, it is a good decision.
"Tell me how you feel and what your body wants." I often said so on the mat, but I didn't mention how they could express themselves. Interestingly without words, they use their bodies to show their wish...a smile, a straggling leg, an eye contact...somehow I catch those and tailored the course base on those "messages".
Somehow I believe it is my students' intensions make me doing that. So recently I often start the course with " make your mind of what you want to receive on the mat and let your intension lead you."
As a teacher or maybe I should call myself as a tour leader on yoga mat, my mission becomes just simply make sure everyone is still on the right track toward the destination of their journey.
Somehow I like it a lot!!
